@AlexKucera That’s intriguing… You seem to have taken a quite different path than I.

@numericcitizen I fired off a couple of different AI tools for inspiration. I also got two flows from YouTube and the Template directory. I picked what made the most sense to me from all of these and then used Goose with GLM-4.7 and the n8n MCP and Skills (converted with OpenSkills for Goose) to polish it.

@numericcitizen I haven’t gotten around to naming all my nodes properly, so you might need to play with it to figure things out.

@AlexKucera consider removing your link to your JSON file as we can see your MB App Token.

@numericcitizen already gone. it was only to share it with you.

@numericcitizen @manton pity Micro.blog doesn’t have private messaging. Then I could have simply shared the json with just you.

@numericcitizen there is now a cleaned up, token-sanitized, more efficient version under that same link.

@AlexKucera @numericcitizen I’m still conflicted about private messaging. We support replying to private mentions from Mastodon, but not initiating them, mostly because they aren’t secure and should probably be used rarely. Part of me just wants to have a button to start an email conversation.

@manton initiating a email conversation could be really cool actually. I think if people want to have a private conversation they should just move to signal or the like.

@timapple Yeah, that’s my thinking too. Dedicated messaging apps are always going to be better.

@manton I was just going to say, I think the “anonymous email” bridge is the way to go– sends an email without the sender knowing your address unless you choose to respond seems like the “correct” way to private message. I don’t need an inbox in Micro.blog, but I wouldn’t mind email without “exposing” my email.

@jsonbecker Thanks, that makes sense to me. And we already have email forwarding set up for email newsletters.

@manton Scribbles.page from @vincent offers a great solution and compromise I think.

@manton +1 for the email button! Not interested in (yet another) private messaging system.

@manton Yeah, I think an email button would be a cool feature 😄

@manton I like the idea of an email button.

@manton email is a good addition, but make sure that it is FROM Micro.blog - with a no-reply policy. From Mb user to another Mb user. if they want to continue privately, take it somewhere else. And oh, make it also ephemeral - once opened, 3 days and then it is gone, so no unnecessary storage needed. :)
