Connected #508: Six or Seven Websites

After follow-up topics ranging from iPhone cases to apps for some very specific use cases, @ismh86, @imyke, and @viticci discuss some of the changes in this week's beta OSes, recent DMA news, Apple's Beats strategy, and more.

Great show. For @viticci - what about a Profile for these 6 or 7 websites. Perhaps a shortcut to help switch?

Now I kinda want someone to make an app that allows you to look at exactly 6 or 7 websites. Refuses an 8th website, will not show anything until you provide at least 6 URLs.

@connected @ismh86 @imyke @viticci Federico, if you want a good alternate browser, I would check out Orion. It’s very similar to Safari. I used to use it for news sites.

But now, I use AnyBox and a shortcut that loads just my ‘News’ folder in AnyBox. Even though AnyBox has tons of my other stuff, using a shortcut makes it feel like an independent app.

I think focus modes might work for what you want:

I’ve never used Safari profiles, but I’m going to try it now that it’s connected to focus modes.

A settings screen on iPhone. It shows the focus filter for Safari with profile selected.

@viticci Can you use add to dock and then open them all with Bunch?

@viticci @paladintom @connected @ismh86 @imyke That's a good shout!
(It's made by the developers of Kagi. 👌🏻)

My recommendation is to check out @quichebrowser:
* Very nice indie dev,
* minimalistic feature set,
* but 100 % customisable UI, so you can make it into a reading machine. 🔥
