For anyone who is not prepared for our upcoming USB-C standardization, I had to pick up one of these USB-C cable testers last year to figure out why half of my cables don’t work with specific devices despite everything being USB-C.
USB-C has an almost infinite pin combinations despite being considered a standard.
The good news is everything will use USB-C.
The shitty news is that if you don't have a cable tester, you are in for a shitty time.
