@ryanbooker I just looked at Mastodon's bookmarks export. Shouldn't be a problem to add an option for it.
@manton Related to switching to Mb, would it be possible to automatically make posts categories be visible as hashtags on Mastodon?
@vladcampos Technically possible, but I think that would require some kind of new setting, since not everyone will want that.
@manton I would greatly appreciate it if you could give some consideration to the "settings" idea. Mb is not only a great platform for people who just care about blogging. It is also ideal for single-person businesses and even side projects. There are a many of them already here, and they would greatly benefit from increased exposure and more statistics, like followers and others I've been advocating for.
Making more tools available for those of us who are interested in discoverability would make Mb itself more known. It would make more people use and share their Mb ActivityPub handle as their main one, which, in turn, would also bring more awareness to Mb as a product. The more people go to "micro.blog/user-name" to follow someone, the more the "Micro.blog" brand will be known.
I've read and listened to you sometimes complain about articles and podcasts talking about the Fediverse without mentioning Mb. I strongly agree with you. It's unfair not to mention the great work you've done here. But maybe people are simply not aware of it.
For example, right now, there's a lot of talk going on about The Verge federating its blog, but all blogs hosted by Mb are already federated. That's something amazing that you created, and I don't see anyone talking about that. I strongly believe some users could help bring more visibility and awareness to this remarkable product you created.
At the same time, I totally agree with you on respecting the wishes of those who prefer a quieter space. However, there's a solution pointed out by you. "Settings" might be the way to make everybody happy.
