Cancelled my Apple One subscription. Only keeping Apple Music and Storage.
@vincent I'd like to have Apple Music, but my spotify is still associated with an account in Poland, which is like 5 € a month. not going to drop that 😉
@pcora I’m actually thinking of switching to Spotify once they launch their “Supremium”… which means it’ll probably be €10/month for a family account here in Poland.
@pcora I still have to pay UK prices, because Apple won’t allow you to switch countries without loosing… everything…
@vincent Apple makes this a mess, my main Appstore is still the Brazil one. And I used to have an US one too as many items were not available in the BR one. I'd love that they fix this with some sort of account consolidation, merging stuff..
@vincent I did the same as you. I cut out everything except for music and storage. And I have Prime so I could probably cut out music too if I had to!
@ridwan It's more aggravating when you see how many billions and billions of dollars they make every quarter.
@vincent I did last year too. Been back and forth with Apple Music, and canceled that too, and now I’ve even canceled Spotify which I’ve had since 2013. Roll only with bought music from iTunes, and ripped via Doppler now.
@vincent Ugh Apple Music brought chaos to my meticulously organized collection. Cancelling may well be the only way to fix it at this stage lol And I don’t use but like .03% of the cloud storage I pay for. I do like News and TV, but use probably doesn’t justify cost. You’re making me 🤔
@UndamnedOne oh dear, I just wrote a huge article about this… need to edit it a little to make sure I don’t get “cancelled” either haha, so you can see my more nitpick reasoning on each service. Will share it soon… maybe.
@vincent I did the exact same thing. $32/month was pushing it. Now that it’s nearly at $40/month…just not worth it, especially considering I don’t make much use of Arcade, Fitness+, and New+. I’ll likely sub to TV+ when I want to binge a show, but that can be on a one-off basis.
@pcora yeah, they should do something here… but I think their problem is, and was, at the time I tried switching, content licensing 🙄🙄🙄 Another fine job of humanity (or the few that ruin it). Sigh.
@birming getting richer by £15 a month, yes!!! That’s at least some shopping for food.
@odd that’s cool! I think owning your own music, especially if you’re set on bands & artists you like is cool. I wish I was like that, but love to listen to random new stuff.
@jomalo worth just looking at what you really use. It’s difficult because they really dark patter you with the price differences…
@vincent I share it with the family, not sure if any one else uses it. I can definitely do without.
@vincent I'm gonna explore to see if I can save by ditching Arcade and News+, and maybe dropping down in iCloud storage. But I use everything else in the Premium plan.
@vincent Yeah, I just cancelled Apple One as well. Good job, Apple, making me revisit what exactly I'm paying for. I kept Fitness+, iCloud 2tb, and Apple+. I'm back to my owned local music.
@vincent I do too, but I’ve recently discovered a lot of new artists that I’m going to buy selections from, and I have Spotify as a free ad based option. I also have the Broadcasts app for free Internet radio. 🛜 📻
@alpower This article here? I published it that evening. I'd take it with a grain of salt though 😅
