Cancelled my Apple One subscription. Only keeping Apple Music and Storage.
@vincent I'd like to have Apple Music, but my spotify is still associated with an account in Poland, which is like 5 ā¬ a month. not going to drop that š
@pcora Iām actually thinking of switching to Spotify once they launch their āSupremiumāā¦ which means itāll probably be ā¬10/month for a family account here in Poland.
@pcora I still have to pay UK prices, because Apple wonāt allow you to switch countries without loosingā¦ everythingā¦
@vincent Apple makes this a mess, my main Appstore is still the Brazil one. And I used to have an US one too as many items were not available in the BR one. I'd love that they fix this with some sort of account consolidation, merging stuff..
@vincent I did the same as you. I cut out everything except for music and storage. And I have Prime so I could probably cut out music too if I had to!
@ridwan It's more aggravating when you see how many billions and billions of dollars they make every quarter.
@vincent I did last year too. Been back and forth with Apple Music, and canceled that too, and now Iāve even canceled Spotify which Iāve had since 2013. Roll only with bought music from iTunes, and ripped via Doppler now.
@vincent Ugh Apple Music brought chaos to my meticulously organized collection. Cancelling may well be the only way to fix it at this stage lol And I donāt use but like .03% of the cloud storage I pay for. I do like News and TV, but use probably doesnāt justify cost. Youāre making me š¤
@UndamnedOne oh dear, I just wrote a huge article about thisā¦ need to edit it a little to make sure I donāt get ācancelledā either haha, so you can see my more nitpick reasoning on each service. Will share it soonā¦ maybe.
@vincent I did the exact same thing. $32/month was pushing it. Now that itās nearly at $40/monthā¦just not worth it, especially considering I donāt make much use of Arcade, Fitness+, and New+. Iāll likely sub to TV+ when I want to binge a show, but that can be on a one-off basis.
@pcora yeah, they should do something hereā¦ but I think their problem is, and was, at the time I tried switching, content licensing ššš Another fine job of humanity (or the few that ruin it). Sigh.
@greghiggins how do you make billions and continue to make them? Oh yeahā¦ charge more š
@odd thatās cool! I think owning your own music, especially if youāre set on bands & artists you like is cool. I wish I was like that, but love to listen to random new stuff.
@gannonburgett good idea with the binging! I think Iāll miss Fitness+ā¦ sighā¦ letās see.
@jomalo worth just looking at what you really use. Itās difficult because they really dark patter you with the price differencesā¦
@vincent I share it with the family, not sure if any one else uses it. I can definitely do without.
@vincent I'm gonna explore to see if I can save by ditching Arcade and News+, and maybe dropping down in iCloud storage. But I use everything else in the Premium plan.
@vincent Yeah, I just cancelled Apple One as well. Good job, Apple, making me revisit what exactly I'm paying for. I kept Fitness+, iCloud 2tb, and Apple+. I'm back to my owned local music.
@vincent I do too, but Iāve recently discovered a lot of new artists that Iām going to buy selections from, and I have Spotify as a free ad based option. I also have the Broadcasts app for free Internet radio. š š»
@alpower This article here? I published it that evening. I'd take it with a grain of salt though š
