Shout out to my Apple Watch. The cargo cart I was driving at work today overturned with me inside it. (I'm fine, just a few scrapes and bumps) My watch detected the crash and immediately offered to call 911. It's definitely worth what I paid for it.

@amerpie Yikes, Lou, that sounds scary. So glad to hear all is well and hope you got check out just in case. And all hail Apple's iWatch! Is it a series 9?
@amerpie No blogging while driving, Lou!! 😆
Same thing happened when my mom was t-boned 10 weeks ago. It placed the call for her, and then immediately alerted all her emergency contacts that she had been in a crash and had called 911, along with her location. This just one of a whole bunch of specific features we bought her the watch for. I really think this should be mandatory equipment for anyone her age—and perhaps, for prolific bloggers who roll a cargo cart. 😉
(glad you're ok!)
@alexandra I have an Ultra 2, but all Apple Watches since series 4 have the fall detection feature
@amerpie I’ve been looking to upgrade my original to the series 9, tho I hear there will be a 10 later this year.
@alexandra It should be out in a couple od months

@amerpie Whoa! Good for the watch of course but I’m glad you’re alright, Lou.
@amerpie Glad to hear you’re okay! I’ve had a few of those close-calls and it’s sort of justified it for me, too (using a Series 4 as long as I can hold off—either until it dies or they change the band fitting and I get the last one to keep my collection!)
@amerpie Glad you're OK! Also -- agree on the watch. They are the most unsung and probably best product Apple puts out.
@amerpie glad to hear you’re still in one piece. Still, that’s an exciting day at work!
