@skinnylatte really enjoy the perspective you provide here. Having never lived anywhere but the near vicinity of where Inlive now I have never known what it is to miss your culture, your country of origin. I am glad you have found a place that helps you maintain thosr connections.

@skinnylatte Thank you for sharing your story. As someone whose ancestors and relatives spoke languages that are now mostly forgotten or ignored in my generation, I now realize the importantance of language preservation

@skinnylatte That was an interesting post, thank you for sharing 😊 I don't have any personal experience with it, but I do feel like it's sad when a disconnect between generations of a family emerges because of that kind of external pressure to change languages.

@skinnylatte great post. I grew up in Hawaii, but spent a few years in my 20s (in the early 80’s) in Southern California. The entire time I was there I looked for food and other reminders of home. Gladly we moved back after only a few years after my daughter was born.
