What is the opposite of bleeding-edge tech adoption?

I know @patrickrhone has referenced an Amish pace of technology adoption before.

How would you classify your own adoption speed?

I just went to the last day of an edtech conference, the first in a couple of years, and I forgot how excited many of my fellow teachers get about new toys in the space.

I want to preach the gospel of trailing edge without being smug.

@xxxx iPhone 12 mini (which there is no replacement for in my mind so... I won't). 2020 MacBook Air running Mac OS Monterey (which is working just fine for my usage so why change it?)

Even my car is a 2009 Volvo XC 70 with 162k which I love and serves all of my needs so... Why not try to get 250-300k out if it?

@xxxx based on my experience of the culture I’m in (where people aren’t generally looking at any kind of tech journalism), trailing edge seems to be the default. I know people who are still getting daily use from their iPhone 5’s.
