@manton Heh, now come the inevitable questions from the masses: 1. Theme editing - does this mean we can add things like Disqus type third party comments? 2. If so, Where do we put them (footer, post template, etc?)

@bradenslen Yes, it's possible now. I haven't used Disqus myself, but I think you paste in some JS underneath the post section... Usually in the layouts/post/single.html
template file.
@manton Excellent!
@manton Nice! I think that means you can also pull in webmentions. Why did I not realize that earlier 👍 @bradenslen
@amit It gets tricky on the Disqus or IntenseDebate end. Both have a generic universal JS script, but that means you have to define parameters like php code to insert permalinks and unique identifiers. Not something I know about. Not MB's fault either.
Another thing is how to get template so I can edit it. I might have it figured out but the reality is I'm just guessing on things. Dangerous on a live site.
I'm not complaining, this is all a huge breakthrough for those that have the knowledge and can take advantage of it
@bradenslen Yeah, you are right. Adding support for Disqus may not be a straight-forward solution. But then I really do not know. Been years since I had Disqus on my blog - I guess last was when I hosted a Wordpress blog on Dreamhost.
And I completely agree with you, a Preview option will be helpful while selecting a theme -- more so with custom theme. cc @manton
@amit It's smashing good that we can add hosted comments at all. I'm sure a large amount of MB hosted bloggers will be able to take advantage.
@fiona I hope it helps. The truth is few people ever comment using the comment form on Wordpress for me either. Most all my comments are via webmention. But I'm about to quit Facebook, leaving lot's of old friends behind, and I feel that having commenting ability for anyone with a browser is very important, just in case one of those friends wants to discuss something brilliant that I wrote. :-)
It could happen.
@amit Ooooh... interesting. I've noticed some people doing that on wordpress sites and would be potentially interested in doing the same now on my micro.blog hosted site...
