Any safety razor users out there? I’m curious about using one. Bonus points if you have experience shaving your head with it. I’m afraid I’ll cut myself to ribbons but I’m interested in all the people who swear by it.

@adamprime I use a Leaf razor. Works well, costs almost nothing for the blades, and if you choose the right blades, you won't cut yourself up at all.

@adamprime Definitely a fan over here, though only for my face. I bought a year's supply of blades for 30 bucks, all while eliminating another source of plastic waste. I've got an Edwin Jagger DE89L, which was suggested for beginners back when I poked around for recommendations.

@adamprime Whatever you do, do NOT use an aggressive razor with Feather blades to shave your head. (Not that I’ve tried, but I recall reading a post about it on Reddit).

@adamprime Yes, I have been using a DE razor for years. I laugh at the dollar shave club, as I get a big box of 100 very nice blades from Merkur for dollars, and the waste is significantly reduced.

@adamprime Thanks for the insights! A friend at work makes his own handles and gave me one a while back and I pulled it out a few days ago. I’m awfully tired of going through cartridge razors.

@adamprime Yes. Best razor to use is the one from Supply. It will take a bit of getting used to. Expect the first time to use to to cut yourself a few time until you get a handle on pressure and the sharpness of the blade. After that you will lament not switching over sooner.
