Now having contributed–perhaps unwisely–to election talk, I return to ignoring politics and focusing my attention on what is mine to do: long-distance parenting for the next three days, accounting at the end of the fiscal year, furniture restoration, and enjoying our Limestone Festival.

@jabel I want to imagine that the Limestone Festival is actually in celebration of limestone. If that is not the case, please don’t enlighten me.

@dwalbert It is, mostly. For example, we went on a wonderful guided tour of the limestone architecture downtown. There was also a live limestone carving demonstration. There’s also plenty of the usual festival stuff, but they do always have limestone specific events. And a parade and fireworks.

@jabel Is that the Limestone Comedy Festival in Bloomington, IN? (Having seen Breaking Away, that would make some sense.)

Kingston ON is “the Limestone City” but has no such festival (although it’d be a great idea).

@the No, two separate festivals. The one I'm talking about is in Bedford, about 30 minutes south of Bloomington. Bloomington also had a lot of famous limestone mills. The comedy festival doesn't really have anything to do with limestone, except that it rocks. Actually, I've never been but I couldn't resist the joke. The home of the festival--The Comedy Attic--is a great comedy club.
