How are folks creating a Reading page in their navigation?

I have the page created and appearing there, but how do I populate it what I’m reading, other than just typing it in? Is there a way to draw from Epilogue that I’m not seeing?

@thatkruegergirl I I just checked what I did, it’s like this.

@thatkruegergirl So set up a Page in ‘Pages’ setting , then add those.

@thatkruegergirl On the web, go to the Bookshelves section and click the "i" button next to a bookshelf. That will give you the option to select a page to automatically add the books in that shelf to.

@BenSouthwood Thank you! I did this, but can’t tell if it worked or not. Might be the Internet troubles I’ve been having, haha.

@manton Is there a way to get two shelves on the page? I’d love to have currently reading and finished reading lists there.

@thatkruegergirl I think Manton replied to you as well. I’m just wondering whether it depends on what plug-in you’re using?

@BenSouthwood That’s a good question. I have the code as you do, but nothing is appearing on the Reading page.

@thatkruegergirl Did you follow Manton’s directions?

@BenSouthwood Yup! My currently reading is there now, but it appears that I can’t put two shelves on one page. I don’t mind creating a second page for finished reading, though.

@thatkruegergirl The built-in feature is just one bookshelf per page. What I personally do is have a "Reading" page that also links to another "Want to read" page. Another way to do it (and I think what @BenSouthwood is doing) is to install the plug-in "Bookshelf shortcode". That gives more options. If you're seeing errors, might be because that plug-in isn't installed.

@thatkruegergirl I’m glad (no offence) that it’s not just me who struggles to get these things working. :-)

@manton Oh, okay. And you’re correct—I do not have that plug-in installed. Thank you!

@manton I’m still receiving this error:

Error building site: "/thatkruegergirl_970ca3/content/reading.md:9:34": unrecognized character in shortcode action: U+201C '“'. Note: Parameters with non-alphanumeric args must be quoted

I’m sure it’s just me being cod illiterate, so I apologize :)

@thatkruegergirl Looks like there is a curly quote that it is confused about. This could've happened when copy/pasting the shortcode. Can you try re-typing the quotes on that page and see if that fixes it? Sorry about that!

@manton I retyped all of the code, but am still getting the error.

@BenSouthwood Haha, I’m definitely code illiterate when it comes to this kind of thing.

@thatkruegergirl I find everyone very helpful though. You’ll get it sorted, I seem to remember it took me a while to finally get it working.

@thatkruegergirl Can you follow up to help@micro.blog? I think that will be easier to figure out what is going on. Thanks!
