The future of Nostr might not actually be for microblogging but instead as a cross-platform generic sync API for any type of small data. I know this was baked into the original idea, but the more I think about it, the more it feels like a unique solution to several things.

@manton haven’t dabled enough with Nostr, but that does makes sense: a kind of general purpose network?

@t3mujin Pretty much, yeah. It wouldn’t work for everything but there are a few things it could be very well suited for. And it can start small because apps can also run their own custom Nostr relays.

@manton like an IPFS alternative? (Thinking of Subconscious specifically in syncing notes across apps)

@manton what sort of solutions would you be thinking about roughly?

@laurenshof I was thinking notes sync, to-dos, favorite settings… Anything that is small and could be used across apps.
