The Palestinians and Lebanese and Syrians and Yemenis and Iranians did not cause the holocaust, but critically they are paying for it in the same manner..
This is the part that riles me up, too.
@kaa 💯💯
@pratik With respect, no. In the same manner? Really? The Israelis are gassing the Lebanese, Syrians, and Yemenis by taking them into concentration camps, wherein they are culling those who cannot work for a fascist regime that is waging war on the rest of Europe?
I'm not saying you have to endorse the Israeli government, nor even that you cannot criticize them: but that's not a defensive position.
@lukemperez genocide is defined as:
the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.
Nothing about the method or the timeline. From a Palestinian perspective, the space they live on is their concentration camp. They even built a wall around it. And then the latest which is simply bombing it all to rubble. Yeah much more civilized.
@kaa you are 100% correct. The most heartbreaking piece I’ve read in a very long time is this account from a French surgeon who spent 5 weeks in Gaza.
@lukemperez Ok. I'll give you that it's not "in the same manner." The Holocaust cannot be compared to anything else. I was mostly angry about the wrong people facing the brunt of that atrocity. The actual perpetrators got off easy.
