Heard on the radio yesterday:

SYDNEY JORDAN: There are estimates that Americans consume, on average, one credit card worth of plastic every week.

Didn’t realize the amount of micro-plastics consumed was that high.

@Parag I hope well will have this bill as a universal policy sooner rather than later. The producers must be incentivised to make minimal and recyclable packaging.

@odd Yes! Totally agree and support adoption of that policy. I was just shocked by the amount of plastic consumed by people.

@Parag Yes, had no idea myself. Crossing my fingers we’ll move in the right direction.

Yeah, there's so much to be done on this. Thinking about certain categories, say, liquid wash detergents that are transported in large plastic containers. Shampoos and liquid soaps too. So much. Switching over to laundry powder or sheets that can be transported in paper/cardboard. Just one example. Not only would it cut plastic waste, but initial energy used in packaging production and then transport costs too.

@Parag What happens with that plastic inside our body? Goes through or does more damage internally?

@pratik Good questions! I have no answers. Have to read more about this.
