Spilled a glass of water all over my MacBook keyboard. So that’s how my morning is going. Seems okay so far.

@manton I speak on behalf of the Council of Water Spillers when I say: you are not alone.

@manton the last time that this happened to me, I was lucky that I didn’t loose any data and the computer still worked, but it was unlucky b/c it fried the battery connection on the board. So it would only work if I kept it plugged in.

@manton Not good, but better that it was water than coffee or anything with sugar in it. Take care to be sure it is thoroughly dry before working as usual!

@manton Or as my wife would say, just in time for WWDC and potential new purchase.

@manton Oof. I did this about 15 years ago. A Super Duper! bootable backup saved me for work for a week as I dried the laptop out. Then the laptop worked for a while, but slowly degraded over time and I bought a new one about a year later.

Hopefully the tech has improved over that time!

@manton Never trust it just to go away! I know it from personal experience.
