I feel judged by my iPad.

An iPad warning that I have too many tabs open.

@adders hahahahahaha. This is incredible.

I always close them before I go into a work meeting because I fear some ad will play or something.

@ReaderJohn @bryan @jean @adders @johnjohnston @klandwehr @canion @jeremycherfas That is amazing. I’m sure my phone would be a burnt ember with all those tabs open!

@adders that sounds like the right amount of tabs :-) The more the merrier.

@dwalbert There are two kinds of iOS Safari users: those who wonder how many tabs you can have open, and those who know that limit is 500. I feel your pain, @adders .

P.S. Safari tab groups are The Way out of the mess. I’m still working through mine, but down to about 100.

@fgtech I use Opera on my phone, but the way out for me would be not to have it open a new tab every time I open the browser. Most of the time that top tab is just a quick search and I'd gladly overwrite it, but closing the new one and going back is a multi-step process on the phone, and I'm usually too lazy to complete it.

@dwalbert Right. There’s no way for the browser to know which tabs you want to keep and which are okay to reuse. I use open tabs as a memory aid to help keep track of where I left off in my last search, but it ends up being a “memory leak” on the phone.
