@spgreenhalgh I studied for a year in Freiburg im Breisgau, and made the train journey to both of these cities from there. Ça m’interesse!

@jean oh, neat! I spent a few weeks living in Colmar during my two years in Europe, and Alsace is one of the regions I miss the most!

@spgreenhalgh Flammekueche! Choucroute! It’s not just the food, but Alsatian food is sure memorable. (Trader Joe’s Tarte a l’oignon is a little trip down memory lane.)

@jean One big regret is that I never sat down for a real Alsatian flammekueche! I've bought a lot of TJ's tartes à l'oignon in penance.

One favorite thing about moving to Alsace was despite having been in France/Switzerland for 2 years, my ability to pronounce town/street names suddenly got worse.

@spgreenhalgh I studied beginning French for a month in Strasbourg under the extremely mistaken assumption that I’d be able to get by fine using German there if needed. Oops. PS. Zweibelkuchen in Freiburg was also wonderful, paired with the neuer Süßer fresh white wine.
