I’ve been thinking about clearing off the internet. Shutting everything down. 99.999% sure I won’t. But it’s on my mind. Not enjoying this any more.

@aeryn I know you took a break recently, and that can definitely help. Something that works for me sometimes is switching up where I hang out. Like, if I’m not feeling the stuff coming in from my news sources, I swap them out for a bit with more cozy, wholesome web experiences.

Perfectly Imperfect is one of those spots—it’s just people (not algorithms) sharing what they love. Hanging out there usually puts me in a good mood. 😊

@aeryn I took a year off a few years ago. Maybe a bit extreme but occasional breaks are good.

To scratch the itch, I used my DayOne Journal App as a private twitter and wrote essays to text files instead of blog post. It worked for me.

@aeryn Well … if you’re not enjoying it… How about taking a long break? A few months maybe and see how you feel?

@aeryn I relate. I’ve pared things way down and that has helped a lot. Others mention taking a break, which made me realize I am taking short breaks all the time. I hope you find what works for you.

@patrickrhone @jean @Miraz thank you all. I’m pondering some kind of change. Not sure whether that’s temporary or permanent. Or I’m just going to do whatever I feel like day by day.

Thanks for all the responses on this post :)
