I had such a great talk with @stickmandiaries on the latest Micro @Monday podcast. I’m learning so much via this podcast project, not the least of which is there are a lot of nice people out there in the world.

@macgenie Thx Jean for the opportunity to be on micro Monday and battling through it with me. I had a great time even though I was nervous beforehand but you made it a very enjoyable and relaxed experience. have chatted for hours which I’m sure you would have appreciated! 😁 I rather like this microcasting business.. looking forward to hear more stories.
@stickmandiaries really enjoyed your Micro Monday appearance. And I hope to see some sketchnote experiments in the future.
@stickmandiaries I love your comment that you already do something like it. I find that people are either like “Hey! I kind of do that! Oh those are some interesting ideas I can add on" or "Wait! You mean I can not just write words?” 🤯
@stickmandiaries My vocal cords have let me down this month, but thanks for being so accommodating. If I were fit, it could have turned into a 3-part microcast!
@macgenie Yes apologies for launching into train travellogs 😃 and probably slowing your recovery.
@macgenie @stickmandiaries A great episode! The point of the iPad being this way of rethinking computing and being a motivator for art was very interesting.
@martinfeld The thing that I love about it is the immediate ability to rectify ones mistakes. As a child I always remember being told not to make mistakes or words to that effect and the fear of marking the paper always outweighed the desire to create things. Obviously this doesn’t included doodling. But with the advent of the Apple Pencil suddenly we are only constrained by our minds. I also love the fact that I can “computer” write in a way I see it on paper.
@stickmandiaries I had this feeling/experience as well. I think it is partly my personality.
@stickmandiaries You make such a great point about fearing mistakes. I love the Pencil but just don't quite have the artistic skill; perhaps this is a reason just to give it more of a go. I think the lack of pressure is what I loved about typing as a child on my family's first Power Macintosh; I would just write stories and gibberish with the delete key only a tap away. No need for a rubber or liquid paper!
@martinfeld I am far from being any kind of artist but the pencil ✏️ makes my efforts possible, give it a go and what does it matter if your “no good” you can improve 😃 just takes iteration!
@stickmandiaries Really great point you made about both likes and following being performance on those social networks. We often think about posting being performance so much of the time, but those others are just as bad (in addition to the ways they serve as gamification and emotional cudgels) 👍
