It’s Micro Monday again. We’ve been doing a series of roll calls to help enthusiasts find each other. This week’s topic is walking, by popular demand. Take the next step and leave a comment so others can follow your blogging trail.

PS. @monday podcast hiatus ends very soon!

@jean I walk regularly, but don’t tend to write about it 🚶🏻‍♂️

@jean I walk daily and have developed it as a meditative discipline as well as an exercise discipline. I bring my camera to turn it into a seeing discipline too! Pre pandemic I used to wind up at a cafe and write for a while too, a practice I am slowly returning to. I follow the discipline even when traveling. I try to walk at least 10k steps a day and have had days that approach 30k steps. Big fan of walking!

@jean Avid walker. I work from home so my morning commute is a run with my dog and the evening, a nice walk. Don’t usually post anything from these, since it’s usually the same routes, without anything that interesting.

@jean I’ve sadly gotten away from walking once the hot weather hit, so I need to change this by heading out early morning if I can. Love walking otherwise, and like @mbkriegh mentioned it’s very meditative for me as well.

@jean I like to walk on nature trails, not very prolific - couple times a month maybe ? Easy walks, with something other than neighbors & houses to see.

I recently posted some snaps from the Flytrap and Sugarloaf trails at Carolina Beach State Park

@jean walking is the best. I’m a runner and love that but walking you can do anywhere and without being in good shape.

@jean my blog was for years mostly about educational technology. It seems to have morphed into a walking/natural history blog over the last few years.

@jean I walk five miles almost every day. I live on the side of a hill, and my route has me walking up the steep hill five times.

@jean I walk every morning, 4 miles, before I do anything else. I try to walk fast at 12 minute miles. Sundays is just a stroll for about 1.5 miles as that is my “off” day. Just a loop by my house and I don’t carry my phone so no pictures.

@jean 🙋🏻‍♀️ I definitely like walking! My usual routes are just through my local streets to a nearby park or the beach, but sometimes we go further afield (like to the Dandenongs). When we do go somewhere interesting I try to blog about it 😊

@jean I enjoy walking so much that Craig Mod's article is featured on jsonbecker.com as one of the very few links. Nothing clears my head better. Whether walking in a new city or escaping into nature, walking is the most underrated physical activity.

@jean I’ve just upped my goals from 3 to 5 times a week for “bigger” walks. Walking is life.

@jean Walking is my main mode of transportation. 🙂 It helps that my neighborhood has a walk score of 98.

@jean I try to walk at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes daily, and I'm trying to increase that. I'm wimpy about rain, snow & cold though, so actual walking is less, especially in winter. Recently I've had a project of walking every street in our little town, which helps to keep me from getting into a rut.

@JMaxB Your walking pattern sounds like mine. The project is a great idea. If I’m not walking a dog, I am not motivated enough to get out on my own.

There is nothing like a walk through the woods to fill oneself with peace. Bonus points if there is a creek or river to walk beside.
