@manton I’m really thrilled to see these changes Manton. They really remove friction in my workflow and my need to always double check what got posted was what I intended (I’m a irregular quadrilateral guy living in a square world).
@manton Thankful, as always, for your attention to feature requests. I know you can’t do everything all at once, but I’m continually amazed & pleased by how responsive you are to users of you apps & this platform.
@manton Maybe send such news also out to Kickstartwr backers via their channel to reach all the backers. Otherwise, great news!
@manton I’ve posted two square images with the new version today (love the new toggle); the first one was 1301x1301 (same as before) and 208K, but the second one was 2700x2700 and 1.1 MB (more complex and harsher light, sure, but 5x filesize?). I’m confused at how I ended up with 2 different dimensions and the much-larger filesize when adding the photos in the same way with the same (new) version of the app.
@smokey I'm confused too and I'm reviewing it. Also just rolled out a fix on the server related to scaling down photos.
@manton I realize I’m probably in the minority of people who are impacted by this, but the settings screen has some truncated strings on iPhone SE-sized screens.
@sakurina Haha, that’s less cut off than on my 5S! I didn’t even know that there was that “version” line at the top :-)
@the Oh, right, it’s ~4x the number of pixels. So the filesize is not as far out-of-range as I thought earlier.
@smokey Huh, that is odd. Is your Dynamic Type setting set to default?
(Also you probably don't remember me but I do remember your name from the Camino IRC channel back like… 14 years ago? Time flies…)
@sakurina My Dynamic Type is smack in the middle, presumably where Apple set it (I’ve never changed it). It’s possible there’s a difference between iOS 10 and 11, too.
(And I thought your username seemed familiar when I saw it here last night…it’s only been ~5 years that Camino’s been gone, but it does seem like another lifetime ago….)
