🍿 I don’t understand why everyone seems to hate the new Aladdin movie based on the trailer? I think it looks pretty good. Sure, Genie looks a bit different and might end up being the worst part of the movie. But I think Will Smith’s voice fits well.

@EddieHinkle I think his voice is a good fit too, but Genie may be impossible to translate to live-action. The original was much more stylized and cartoony than anything from other films Disney has tried to remake.

@EddieHinkle I think the problem is the magic of Robin Williams. However if he were alive today people would be upset if he hadn't been cast. Will Smith will be different, but fun!

@EddieHinkle ` i was thinking the same thing that @rosemaryorchard did that the problem is that he is not Robin Williams.

@fiona Interesting. I can understand that better than most comments I’ve seen 🙂

@EddieHinkle I think it’s hard to measure these until they’re out. The Jungle Book live-action film is great and tells a great story. Yet Beauty and the Beast is nearly a shot for shot remake. I hope it takes its own unique twist.

@dgreene196 Interesting perspective! I find most people want these movies to be complete duplicates. I like that you are interested in a unique twist in the story telling. I think I can easily enjoy both ways as long as they provide a nice story.
