For over a decade I’ve been laptop-only. My corporate life demanded worldwide portability so the Windoze laptops were pretty 🦥. At home I used mid-tier MBPs. But now for no good reason I’m strongly tempted to buy a high end iMac for performance. 🖥 Blame iPad?
@ronguest I’m having the same dilemma. I have never had an iMac, though I bought one of the originals for my mother back in the day... Now that I don’t really need a laptop, I’m tempted.
@macgenie I've barely had my MBP out of the house in the past year and that was not for any important reason. Haven't taken a laptop on a vacation in years. The MBP sits on my desk connected to an external monitor every day because a bigger screen beats portability at home. Covid has influenced this a bit but isn't a key reason. Yet the decision seems about a fraught as a divorce. In addition to performance the other thing that has always bugged me is the fact the external monitor looks so bad compared to an Apple Retina display. Decisions...
