‘No Creed But the Bible’ Subverts the Bible • Better said: “The Three Creeds, Nicene Creed, Athanasius’s Creed, and that which is commonly called the Apostles’ Creed, ought thoroughly to be received and believed: for they may be proved by most certain warrants of Holy Scripture.”

@marmanold Thank you. I have a bias against TGC for some reason. Occasionally something pops up there worth reading.

@rmcrob There’s some folk at B&H that are drawing ever more closely to Reformed catholicity. Much work to be done, but the fact they are even considering themselves at part of the Catholic Church, is a huge step. Now to address peadobaptism... ;-)

@marmanold It was decades after I started dabbling in the 19th century public domain translations of the Church Fathers that I learned that Schaaf (and maybe others) in that project were more or less Reformed Catholics via the “Mercerburg School” of Reformed thinking.

We Orthodox tend to think that nothing bad can come of Protestants acquainting themselves better with the Fathers (and, in fact, one Reformed theologian, who shall remain nameless, is on my prayer list as he seems to be moving ever closer to Orthodoxy).
