Here we go.

@pratik I see your weather and raise you:
A weather forecast displays precipitation, chance of snow, and temperature ranges for the next seven days. Icons indicate sunny or snowy conditions. Text at bottom summarizes weekly snow and rain totals.

@lostinhaste Nice. Now do it with the Texas electric grid.

@pratik Here’s mine (in Celsius): A screenshot of a weather forecast application showing a 10-day weather forecast for Oslo. The temperatures range from -23°C to 3°C with different weather conditions indicated by icons, such as snow, partly sunny, and clouds. There are also percentages

@pratik I talked to my son, an Austinite, today and he said every loaf of bread in the state of Texas has been sucked off the HEB shelves by the freeze preppers.

@patrickrhone @palousegeo @odd But do you have a Senator who will fly to Cancun in the midst of a blackout?

@amerpie Happens. Every. Time 😒

@pratik As much as we would love that sort of entertainment here, our state is too blue to get anyone like that elected. We tried it once with Jesse Ventura, but it wasn't as fun as we hoped.

@jaheppler Jeepers. We get like that at least once a winter. Stay warm.

@jaheppler @patrickrhone @pratik Something to make you all feel a bit warmer:

A location in Alberta hit -50.1°C (-58.1°F). Don’t get me wrong, I love winter and cold weather, but that’s more than slightly ridiculous.

@pratik good luck with your power grid. All Biden’s fault obviously.

@pratik No. 😏 Luckily we don’t have any senators.

@toddgrotenhuis Ok, thanks! I thought I learned it once, but it’s gone now. It’s so much easier with 0° for freezing, and 100° for boiling, (at sea level).

@odd yeah metric and Celsius are much better!

@odd @toddgrotenhuis maybe for handling water yes but for weather, I find Fahrenheit better. Yes, 32F is freezing but 0F is really cold. Below that it’s intensely cold. Same on the other end of the spectrum, 100F is really hot. Above that, it gets intensely hot. The range is a lot more, compared to Celsius, for various levels of human comfort. I’m a metric fan otherwise for other measurements.

@pratik I can see what you mean, but I think I’m hardwired to Celsius.
