Excellent guide to forest bathing from NPR podcast, β€œLife kit”.

Surprised to see the time recommendation - 2 to 6 hours. That seems quite long but, maybe needed once in a while to get the optimal effect.

@Parag > One study found that participants who walked in the forest for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon saw an increase in anti-cancer proteins and immune cells that kill tumors.

I'm all for forest bathing, but if they have four hours to spare in a day, I don't think there's much stress in their life anyway.

@pratik Yeah! That seems kinda extreme. I really enjoy forest bathing for an hour or two once in a while. Makes me peaceful. Not really looking for anti-cancer benefits here. For that I have my mostly vegetarian diet. 😝😝😝

@Parag The cancer thing seemed like a stretch. I can see the benefits for mental health.

@Troydp @parag Ah! My bad then. A longish hike on the weekend is perfectly do-able unless you are busy running errands that you couldn't during the work week. Sigh!

@Troydp Thanks for pointing this out. It makes sense. I doubt anyone has time to go for a 2+ hour hike in the woods everyday; not even an empty-nester like me.
