If anyone has doubts about Threads supporting ActivityPub, listen to Mark Zuckerberg on Decoder. Some of what Mark says is almost IndieWeb-esq at times! I still believe Facebook has done a lot of harm to society, but they are clearly hoping to be more open with Threads and that’s a good thing.
@manton There’s no sign of it ever being made available in Ireland, which is kind of a shame as it seems to have the most potential/biggest reach.
@manton I’m willing to give Meta another chance if Zuckerberg is genuine about the change in his attitude toward the web.
@BenSouthwood I assume Meta is trying to figure out what to do with the Digital Markets Act. I’m expecting that Europe and ActivityPub will happen around the same time.
