Are you a set-up-as-new phone type, or a transfer-data-from-old-phone type?
@maique There’s something about the continuity of having things mostly set up the same way on a new phone that’s really nice.
I’m still undecided. 🤔
@AngeloStavrow I used to do iCloud restore but the data never comes back in full… some things need to be reconfigured and I find this annoying.
@numericcitizen That’s always a tricky thing, I’ve never found things transfer over with zero setup leftover.
@DaveyCraney Yeah, I’m kinda thinking that the clean-slate approach might be a nice option. Enough has changed that it’d be nice to explore everything in Settings and the native apps.
@numericcitizen Hmm, I haven’t had a problem with that, even for devices set up as new. Maybe just have to call the bank to activate them for Apple Pay, I think?
@AngeloStavrow I set up my iPhone as new/manually sometime back, and I realized that the auto-suggestions weren’t as good as before. Perhaps those had been saved on the device and would have been transferred to a new device.
@pratik Interesting! I’ve never really found the auto-suggest stuff useful but I’m probably an atypical user with my routines, so I haven’t really noticed a change there.
