I thought the Discourse chat worked very well for Micro Camp.
I wonder if anybody else thinks they would be a good space for further off-timeline chat?
If I remember correctly I think @pratik floated the idea of it being an (un)official Micro.blog messaging service, which is interesting.
@SimonWoods Agree. Right now, lot of it is happening on Wavelength which is not obvious to newcomers. Aside from chat rooms, the private messaging allows for the DM feature. Recently, I used it to send a Bluesky invite so I didn’t have to share my email address on Micro.blog timeline
@pratik @SimonWoods The Discourse chat worked well for Micro Camp. I am adding this to the list of community features to look into. There are things to consider when offering another feature that is also a channel for communication.
