tinyMovieStar knows a couple more words in English. Sadly the words she has somehow learned are the ones we need to use when we’re trying to talk amongst ourselves.

Ice-cream, and beach, have been decoded. New words are needed!

She’s learning too fast, on her own.

@maique abandon all hope ye who enter this phase of parenthood.

My wife and I will now text each other even if we’re sitting next to each other to have conversations without using what we call “committal” words. You say “beach” because you’re talking about next summer, she hears “oh right now?!?!” Sometimes we say “I don’t know how to say this without committal words but do we need any broccoli from the store?” Of course, we mean getting ice cream or pie or something.

It’s hard. But you’re fighting a losing battle. Accept it and adapt. 🤙🏽

@lukemperez @pcora We’re in for a ride, that’s for sure 🤣

Texting might work, but not always. If we’re playing with her we don’t have the phones in our hands… we might have to learn sign language, or speak in another language. We been looking at French, or Spanish, but some of the works sounds a little too close to work. Maybe French…

It’s definitely one of the things we didn’t consider until it happened 🤣🤣

@maique That's why we kept an entire language out of R's repertoire but alas, he's catching up now.

@pratik Yeah! We did the same. Our secret language was Hindi as the kids knew Marathi pretty well. Now my daughter is learning Hindi on Duolingo but, we don't need a secret language anymore. Both will officially be adults soon. @maique

@parag Ours was Hindi too but only coz A doesn't speak (but understands it) Marathi and I don't speak (but can follow along) Oriya.

@lukemperez Thank you. I’m sure we will, even if it’s just speaking normally and dealing with it 😇
