Do any of y’all watch a movie in small chunks or do you sit straight thru the film?
@tiff It depends on the movie. If it's really anxiety-producing, I might do it in 20 minute segments. But usually I want to watch the whole thing at once.
@tiff I want to watch it all in one go, because I see it as a work of art that is meant to be done in that way, but as I struggle with my concentration, I sometimes have to split it up into parts.
@tiff Recently I watched the movie White Noise. I had to break it into 3 segments; so much dialog. Usually I watch a film to the end.
@tiff with the bright of my child I started watching movies in installments. It is not that I prefer it that way but otherwise I just don't always have the time to watch one. What I observed now is also that when a movie is really good then it will be watched in one sitting as I just can't stop.
@tiff Almost always watch all the way through. Some movies used to be made with intermissions, and we take those as 'permission' to break up the viewing.
@tiff Small kids at home equals small chunks of viewing, otherwise we'd never be able to finish a movie.
@tiff It's rare that we can finish a movie in one sitting. Too many things happening, so we spread it out over two days.
@tiff I used to watch straight through only taking bathroom breaks when necessary. Now I tend to stop and start several times. I still finish most movies within, say, 3 hours, but often with several short breaks. Mostly, I'd blame the internet. I tend to have my iPad in my lap and will get caught up reading/browsing while watching a movie so pause, sometimes have to rewind a bit. 😬
