Tufte theme updated to 1.2.0! 🎉

• added On This Day support
• built-in plugin support for Conversation on Micro.blog, Surprise Me!, and Post Stats
  • Conversation shows below Reply by Email
  • Surprise Me! and Post stats both show in main menu
• fixed squashed images at certain screen widths, and added box shadows
• fixed long title width going outside the post container

@pimoore Thank you so much for updating Tufte so quickly! Aaaaand I have forgotten how to upgrade (again). I went to my Plug-ins page and see I have 1.1.2 installed but I'm not sure how to upgrade.

@cygnoir if you go into the plug-ins page it should have a notification on Tufte of the new version, and an upgrade button. FYI there was a bug on my test blog where I was at 1.2.0 and it told me a “new” version of 1.1.2 was available. I pinged Manton already so hopefully it’s a fluke.

I am doing my changes using the patented @pimoore approach … only on the iPad … and wondering … did you do something to the styling of the replies

@pimoore Yeah, I like that idea a lot. In addition to making the feature optional, my plug-in has settings for link text and subject line. And, should I add features or fix bugs in the future, people can get them independently from which theme they are using.

@sod that’s a good point, I think I’ll set this up! That brings another question to mind: in my hard-coded version if there’s no title it pulls the name of the permalink to use for the subject line. This seems easier to identify the post as opposed to truncated text. Can the option be added to the plug-in for that?

@cygnoir @johnphilpin No worries, I’ve had trouble keeping track of all the changes myself lately as I’ve been fixing bugs between this and Hitchens. Good news is I have another update coming that fixes the conversation mis-alignment you mentioned.

@pimoore I just noticed another image alignment change on any of my pages that have a bookshelf appended. Here is an example.

@cygnoir Ah yes, I had that fixed in Hitchens and forgot to port it over to Tufte, easily fixed.

@pimoore Yes, I've made the behavior configurable with two new settings. A combination like this mimics the behavior in Tufte:

Something weird is going on with the plug-in's new version number in the directory (I've reported this to @manton), but you should be able to install anyway and test this out.

@sod @manton I saw this yesterday, and Manton clarified that there’s a delay before Micro.blog picks up the version changes, so in the meantime it advises regarding the version it “knows about”.

@JohnPhilpin I’ve built-in the styling and layout for the page if you choose to enable it, but it’s not part of the theme itself. Best reference I can give you is to my instructions in the README on the Hitchens repo over at GitHub.

Just wondering if there is a definitive list of the acceptable time zones I can use on the ‘on this day’ functionality … I have tried NZ, NZDT AND NZST .. to no avail.

@JohnPhilpin I had that trouble initially. Then @cleverdevil gave me this: micromemories.cleverdevil.io/js That works well with only rare oddities.
