Suffering a serious bout of Subscription Fatigue today, so I decided to cancel all non-critical subscriptions. All but one of them were "Annual" plans. Canceling those doesn't feel quite as good as I'd hoped.

@jack This reminds to get hold of all of my subscription in a spreadsheet. How many did you end up cancelling?
@jack I usually reconsider all of them prior to renewal. One of the reasons I like using apple's system for them is how they notify me weeks before annual ones renew giving me plenty of time to consider alternatives
@hjertnes Any service that doesn't send me a heads up prior to renewal gets put on the naughy list. I have too many scheduled tasks like "Confirm renewal of NNN subscription on June 11" etc.
@jack Ahh. I have a shit list for that purpose. Or it also contains anything or anyone that annoy or piss me off. At the moment wordle is on the top
@timapple I mean, it's only $5/month, right?! After auditing mine, I found that these "It's just a cuppa coffee" priced subscriptions added up to over $300/month. That's nuts. I'm down to $250 😀
@pratik Didn't know about Bobby, thanks. Although I kind of prefer blissful ignorance most of the time :)
@JohnPhilpin @jack @pratik Numbers doesn’t get nearly the credit it deserves, highly underrated app.
@pimoore concur - add in the sharing - with anyone - you wonder why anyone would bother with Google Docs.
Same for Keynote and Pages.
@pimoore Numbers is overkill, no? I mean, it's an Excel equivalent (not quite but still). Otherwise even Notes.app will do 🙃 @jack @JohnPhilpin
@pimoore I’m a big fan of Numbers as well. For my projects it is actually more powerful than Excel.
@ronguest I hate Excel, though credit where it’s due: Word takes the cake for my level of despise.
@jack some one posted on Twitter how to mute the green squares on Twitter. My life improved immediately.
@pratik numbers so you can do things like categories - monthly versus annual etc etc - but yes - notes as a list is fine
@timapple we’ll agree to disagree on google sheets/docs etc … understand cross platform world.
@lukemperez Told my husband to do this the other day and he is much happier with his feed now.
@JohnPhilpin Bobby does that too. Plus you can look up splits by categories (streaming, writing, etc.) I mean, any spreadsheet app or notes app with BoE calculation will work.
@pratik but it’s all one at a time - import and export of data would help - it all seemed to me to sit slowly putting stuff in and not getting anything out - there is an AI soln in the Us tgat scans your bank statement and highlights a summary in one go - much more useful - but not tried it - seems to me that I already have all the data I just need a layer to explain it
