YouTube, can we just not? Please?

@keenan This is good, but how about 3 circles with "A" "Better" and "Computer" and it's all me all the time?
@matt I keep giving them that feedback, so I think it’s time to bring it up with Sundar.
@robb I’m worried if I select blue it’ll just be AI generated Smurfs gyrating to Eiffel 65.
@keenan I've been reading your blog. You're a national treasure. You should be protected at all costs. Your website is gorgeous. But I'm not abandoning my RSS reader.
@paulcraig901 in all seriousness, that’s very kind. Thank you. I’m glad you will not abandon RSS. I am a moron and not an influencer.
@keenan You're one of the most intelligent, eloquent and hilarious morons I've ever encountered. Keep writing.
@paulcraig901 @keenan I'm gonna start reading Keenan’s blog by using curl to pull his rss feed into my terminal
@keenan @paulcraig901 technology is kinda like playing with playdough. You just make stuff up and people give you money
@keenan One of the many reasons I approach YouTube the way most animals treat a designated “pooping place”. I publish my content and then get the fuck out of there back to my living space.
@EmilyMoranBarwick I can only imagine. I’ve had very, very little success on YouTube, and even the stress of receiving some of those comments overwhelms me.
@keenan youtube is a rare beast. I have no idea how I grew my channel. (Well the not sleeping ever may have been a factor)
I actually appreciate when trolls exhibit some creativity. I broke from my educational format a while back & made a video of some of the weirder hate comments
I feel GROSS posting a link to my content anywhere EVER…but if you wanna hear some: https://bitesizevegan.org/responding-to-weird-vegan-hate-comments/
(Figured linking to the website saves you being sucked into YouTube’s gaping maw just to watch one video)
@EmilyMoranBarwick Hey, honestly, if it’s a choice between letting them live rent free or monetizing their vitriol, I know which one I’d choose! 😉
@keenan Wait you can MONETIZE?! I actually don't have monetization on my videos (though, remarkably, that doesn't stop YouTube from running ads on them ANYWAYS sometimes...)
I actually don't mind the trolls. It's the more insidious chipping away of humanity and sanity that comes with trying to do anything of integrity on inherently problematic platforms in the age of enshittification that gets to me.
...among other things...too much for a toot :)
