@aa Curious, is the leather more soft/pliable or stiff. Seen (and own) similar covers that are a bit more of a stiff leather, but not really any that are more is a soft/pliable calfskin like leather that will mold/age/fade better/more personally (which I think would be better/cooler).
@aa Nice! I have a friend who has something similar but without a place for a pen. Looks like you have a good solution for that. And great color!
@heyjonathan Thank you, and yes, currently sized for the standard Field Notes notebook! currently using the "Lake Erie" of the Great Lakes edition.
@jabel Thank you! Yes, a space for the pen without adding another "thing" to the design...seems to work well so far!
@patrickrhone this would probably come across as a "stiffer" leather. It is hand dyed veg-tan cowhide, not overly pliable per se, but not too thick either so that helps to keep the weight down while still performing well for the notebook, etc. but, I hear you for sure! I have several ideas in mind for this particular form factor, softer leathers are definitely part of the plan :-)
@aa I like the simplicity of this. Room for a card without making it bulge and the pen holder is a neat look. The only issue I could see is the fountain pen fans that like a thicker pen. Tricky with pre cut slots I’d imagine, how wide to make it.
@meandering yep, very valid…my pelikan m600 fits though, using the precut area or not. Would be tricky to hit all use cases here, but with made to order could do pretty much any type of customization.
@aa but preorder customisation would require people to choose only one pen. That would be like asking a parent to choose their favourite child! Seriously though, just clipping inside the flap works just as well and looks neat.
@aa Ooh, are you taking commissions for something like this from others? I've been looking for something like this for a while.

@SimonWoods thank you and I agree!! Plays tricks on my eyes as the light changes throughout the day, depending what it is close to, etc.
