What app are you all using to write long blog posts for Micro.Blog?
@ndreas I’m back to using Ulysses for long form, while Drafts is my goto for short posts mostly. Welcome back to Micro.blog, by the way. ;)
@ndreas I'm using Bear for my long form writing. However, Bear doesn't have any publishing support which really isn't a concern in my case. My blog posts never graduate from draft status anyway. 😄
When I want to publish a post, I just copy-paste the post from Bear into a Micro.blog client.
I've tried iA Writer and MarsEdit and they work alright and do just what you would expect them to do. It's just that I'm more comfy writing in Bear.
@kottkrig never tried Bear. But I’m using IA Writer sometimes (which have publish support for MB) but I tend to forget about it. Sometimes I’m writing just in the Apple Notes app.
@maique tried Drafts after your recommendation earlier but I think it’s too complex and hard to understand.
@maique can you publish directly from Drafts to MB? In that case, how do I make that setting?
@ndreas I get it. I cannot imagine my life without it, actually. It's on my Dock and, if only one app could be there, Drafts would be it.
@ndreas Yes, yes it does. It may be a little trickier to set up but, once it's ready, I just have to write my post, and press one button. That's it.
There are a couple of actions to do that. A simpler one, without categories, just tap and publish, and another one that lets you pick categories.
@ndreas This is it. As soon as I open Drafts, I can write a post. When I’m done, I only have to tap that button. That’s it.
@ndreas +1 for using Drafts to post here. I have connected a File action(append) to one of the actions mentioned by @maique, which adds each post chronologically, with date, to a backup archive in iCloud Drive.
@ndreas Let me know if you get into trouble. If you’re not used to Drafts, it might seem tricky 🙂
@ndreas When a post is published, you can update (change) the content in the webversion or in the app of micro.blog. In the menu ⇢ Posts ⇢ edit
@ndreas iA is another great choice, though last I used it I believe it could only publish posts as a draft—you'd have to open the MB app or web UI to finish the process. Not sure if that's still the case?
