Elgin Christmas Tree Farm. Super crowded this year. Everyone’s ready to get back to holiday traditions. 🎄

@manton love it! I am missing out on our family tradition this year as we normally go to the tree farm my grandparents own. Been doing it my whole life and working there too. Only times I miss is when our kids have been sick and we don’t get back to Iowa 😔.

@manton I don't get why people use real trees. What do people do afterwards? Fireplace? Here in Berlin people just throw them on the sidewalk... (which is wrong, they should schedule a pickup or take it to the disposal center, otherwise the building can be fined and I have to pay for others mistakes).

@otaviocc My town has scheduled pickup days in January. They come around and collect all the trees, then chip them to use in the city parks and playgrounds in the spring.

@otaviocc Towns I've lived in here in the US usually have a scheduled tree pickup day or days. A lot of the time the town shreds the trees and uses them for mulch.

@otaviocc At least here in Austin, the city picks them up after Christmas to recycle them into mulch.

@manton that's nice! I wonder if the city has some similar here. If it does have, my neighbors either don't know or don't care. But from what I see, if think it's the latter. A real bummer.

@JMaxB that's nice! The city here has scheduled pickup. An alternative people have is taking the tree themselves to a facility that takes care of it. My neighbors either don't know or don't care. But from what I see, if think it's the latter. A real bummer.
