My son is applying for a job at our town swimming pool. As the aquatic center is part of the school complex, it is a job with the school district. This 16 year old has to undergo a full background check. He had to provide his previous address from MI when he was 1 year old. 😯🙄

@supremus It is good that they have the process in place for all new applicants to the school district but, it is a little excessive for a 16 year old. In some states, he can go and buy an assault rifle without that background check right now. @odd

@parag Yes, it’s pretty crazy! In my country, applicants for jobs where you work with people, may have to show a document obtained from the police, that is a verification that they have nothing on their record. Else, it’s mostly documentation from prior employment.

@parag Awesome! It is my dream that as soon as kid is able to, i'd love for her to become a lifeguard.

@supremus My daughter made a lot of money lifeguarding but, my son doesn't want to do that. He doesn't want to be responsible for someone's life. He is going to teach swim lessons and work in the office. You have a lot of time before your daughter can lifeguard but, make sure you (or her) know what the requirements are. Sometimes, it is hard to find a convenient tim slot for training needed to become lifeguard.
