Our app Epilogue is the little happy place I go when I need to work on something fun and simple. But it’s not wasted procrastination time… It also contributes back to the larger goal of encouraging posting to your own blog. Sneak peek at next version.

@manton Looks great, but with my slow reading speed I’m fearful it’s going to bring forth a feeling of guilt. Like that this app is being worked on though, because it’s now both a fountain of new ideas, as well as your own collection of books. 😢📚❤️

@odd I worry about that sometimes too, but you can ignore the feature or just set very realistic goals. 5 books a year! 1 book! 🙂 Personally it helps push me to read every day, but if it's not working for you, don't use it. No pressure.

@manton Oh, in that case there’s no problem. 😃👍✨

@odd @manton Agreed. These are our blogs. They are for us. Therefore we do what we want.

On Micro.blog (blogs and timelines), unlike with social media such as Goodreads, there are no weird competitions or public displays of metrics and so there is no need to give into those negative — yet perfectly normal — impulses.

If you make your blog valuable to yourself first and foremost, I promise all sorts of good will come of it.

@manton Oh, also, it's great to see that feature. Epilogue is quickly becoming one of my favourite apps.

@SimonWoods @manton @odd the main reason I still go to Goodreads it's because their website's the easiest way to get my highlights and notes out of Kindle.

Today I configured my Goodreads to open Micro.blog to save a book. From Goodreads I can review my highlights and notes and jump directly to Micro.blog to add the book to a bookshelf.

@otaviocc That's cool! I didn't know about that.

@manton is posting via Micropub to an external blog supposed to be working? I see no sign of posts arriving at my WithKnown site at stream.jeremycherfas.net. If it is not working, can I suggest altering the micro copy to make it clear?

@jeremycherfas It is supposed to be working… I've tested with WordPress but not Known. Maybe there's something we can adjust in the request. (I think you had asked about this before and I meant to send the request details... Will look that up.)

@jeremycherfas The POST is very basic, form-encoded with just content and mp-destination parameters. I noticed that the h=entry is missing in the request, because Micro.blog doesn't need it... Maybe Known doesn't like that? I'll add it back for the next version.

@otaviocc @SimonWoods @manton @odd the easiest way to get highlights and notes out from the Kindle is accessing Amazon’s online reader. I no longer need Goodreads.

@manton I’m not sure how to see the sent payload from my phone, and I will try and see if I can spot anything in the logs. I suspect Known needs to know what kind of post it is.

@jeremycherfas Give the beta a try if you can, or the final release later. I fixed the Micropub request for the latest build, but just not sure if that was the part that was confusing Known or not.
