@help When using Micro.blog for macOS, what triggers something to be a post vs a micro post? Is it as soon as the title field appears? Or if I hide the title field after it appears automatically, does that switch it back to a micro post instead of a full post?

@iChris A post 280 characters or less is a micro post, with some aditional timeline display rules.

@sod Thanks for posting! There were some things that I didn’t know here.

@iChris If you don't add a title to the title field, even if that field appears, your post will be a titleless micropost. In the timeline, it will be truncated if it exceeds 280 characters.

If I'm posting a photo, I prefer to use fewer than 280 characters so the photo will appear in the timeline. (Thanks @sod for supplying the link to the details!)

@sod Ah thanks! That's perfect. I couldn't tell if on the macOS app when the title field appears around 270? characters if then it was going to be full post, regardless of whether I put a title in or not AND stayed under 280 characters. But I think I should be safe.
