@manton is this a RODE mic by any chance? What is your podcasting setup?

@numericcitizen Yep, it’s the RODE Podcaster. I’ve had it for years. I used to have a more complicated setup with XLR mic and other boxes, but now just use the USB mic. Audio Hijack for recording.

@bgrinter Ha! The cable just split a few days ago after being twisted too much, I guess. It’s a good Apple cable but a few years old.

@manton Does it support macOS Ventura Microphone voice isolation by any chance?

@numericcitizen I don’t think so, but I’m not entirely sure. It’s a fairly old mic at this point. I can’t even find the setting, so probably “no”. 🙂

@manton when you plug the mic into your Mac and start recording with it, in the control center, the tile “Voice mode” should allow you to select “Voice isolation “.

@numericcitizen @manton it’s the same kind of orange menu bar icon as I described being related to those video reactions I discovered.

@danielpunkass Oh wow, so it does work with the Røde Podcaster, and I just did a test recording with pretty loud music on. The result is phenomenal. I think I’ll be recording with this enabled from now on.

@manton Everybody’s commenting on the microphone, with one person commenting on the cable, whereas I’m going straight for “cold brew coffee? at home?” I found a recipe online and will try it at some point.

I prefer my coffee hot, even in the hottest weather. But sometimes I like a nice iced coffee.

According to the recipe I found, you basically just mix up the ground coffee and water and stick it in the fridge overnight. Is that how you do it?

@MitchW I’ve done it that way but currently I’m lazy and just buy cold brew ready to go at the grocery store. 🙂 Usually concentrate which I mix with water and oat milk and ice. Still feels like summer here, so it’ll be a while before I want a hot coffee.
