Calling for @help here @manton : can you point me to a simple guide or instructions sequence for adding a complete h-card to my microb.blog? Thanks a lot!

@numericcitizen @help @manton it feels like things like this should kind of be configurable / part of the setup.

@AndyNicolaides yep! Surprisingly, MB is a big proponent of the Indieweb movement and yet, this part is not exposed in the account settings

@numericcitizen AFAIK this is part of the theme layer. Looking at your micro.blog, there actually is a h-card defined.

Different themes seem to implement more or less h-card elements. On my site there are more.

So if you want to adapt this, you probably need to create a custom theme. help.micro.blog/2019/abou... is a starter for this.

@muhh yeah, that is my conclusion too: creating a custom theme based on the one I currently use and then add the required hcard attributes in the head.html or something like it.

@AndyNicolaides @numericcitizen @gr36 @muhh Is there anything specific missing from the default h-card? This is something that we want to be correct by default without needing to customize the themes, so if something looks wrong, let me know and let's fix it for everyone. In the past, some themes have been inconsistent but I want them all to be as IndieWeb-friendly as possible.

@help thanks for coming back to us. Well, my understanding is to the effect that the content of hcard should be theme independent. Plus, MB could expose hcard settings in its management interface. I’m using the “Hyde” template. If I want to add many of my websites, I cannot do that easily and I’m not even sure where I should put the required HTML stuff.

@numericcitizen I see... Yeah, the built-in hcard is pretty simple. So maybe we should have an interface for adding a list of external sites?

@numericcitizen @help Yes, content of hcard should be independent of theme. Otherwise it acts as a lock-in to one specific theme and discourages changing themes.
