Good blog post from David Sinclair about working with AI for his app Time Out, which he’s been developing since 2003:

With AI tools like Codex or Claude, I and other indie developers can much more quickly turn a suggestion into a shipping feature. I still spend the same amount of time thinking about the design and experience, and writing up extensive notes on it… but when it comes time to implement, it takes mere hours instead of days.

@manton this puts pressure on devs for shipping the “obvious” and then some more because now this has become so easy to ship… no?

@numericcitizen Yes, although different developers may disagree on what is obvious. Adding every feature leads to bloat. But adding only basic features makes it easy to copy!

@manton 100% agree, I’ve been cranking through features on Overland, my GPS tracking app I’ve been building since 2015!
