Why do all apps and websites look the same today? Medium

@adamprocter really interesting read. I suspect that certain design standards (a menu bar/hamburger button) make it easier to use a website, but I'm not sure the white and black interface with small splashes of colour really help with usability. It almost makes me want to collect examples of websites and apps which are usable and unique.
