The RSV is an underrated translation. I’ve been using it near-exclusively for the last year and I’ve really enjoyed it.
@marmanold RSV is great. I use it mostly because there's a nice compact NT+Psalms that's only available in RSV. When it came out it was denounced as blasphemous because it wasn't the KJV -- by the same population that later embraced the NIV. Such is biblical politics.
@AbbaMoses Biblical economics is more like it. For the making of many translations there is a well-nigh insatiable demand.
