Finished Re-reading: Neuromancer by William Gibson đź“š
It’s still incredible to read just how many futuristic things Gibson accurately described way back in 1984 but the accuracy that stood out most in this read is how thoroughly wealth can destroy peoples' humanity.
@gregmoore I loved that book, but I haven’t read it in decades. It’s nice to hear it still holds up. Sadly, Gibson didn’t need a crystal ball to predict that wealth could be such a corrupting force. It’s been so for thousands of years, though technology sure makes things worse. Time for a reread!
@robertbreen As soon as I finished, I actually said out loud to myself, “What a great book!” I’ve already started the next novel in the trilogy.
@gregmoore I somehow missed that Neuromancer is the first book of a trilogy. I’ve got some catching up to do!
@robertbreen I didn’t know that either. Part of why I reread it was to continue into the other two.

With my older eyes I’ll be listening to the audiobook this time around.
