You might’ve noticed there’s a new status line in Micro.blog’s publishing progress, providing a little more context for what the platform is doing. I’ll continue to tweak this so the progress is more useful.

@manton Appreciate that. Knowing a bit about how it all works after watching it for a few years I’ve learned to be more patient but it is a bit of a challenge for my impulse control of “I hit submit why hasn’t it updated!”
@manton I noticed this yesterday. Good stuff. The context is helpful. Thank you for all your work!
@vmstan Yes, it is still too slow. There are more optimizations we can make. Lately the emphasis has been on reliably first, and I think it’s better than it was a year ago.
@manton I noticed that. Looks great!
I would love to see some progress bar when uploading files. I thought something was wrong the first couple of times I used the feature.
@manton If I don’t see ”Reticulating splines” at least one time out of ten, I’m going to be disappointed. 😀
@manton YNAB is unapologetically silly on their loading screens and it delights me every time.
@robertbirming Where are you not seeing the progress bar for uploading files? It should be there. (Although I’m noticing now it can conflict with the publishing progress bar.)
@manton on a mobile browser, the upload bar is only visible in landscape mode, which seems like a bug.
@manton That is very cool. I love Micro.blog. I’ve been fiddling around with some other platforms, like Bear, because I am curious and like to see what’s over there, but no one is doing it as well as micro.blog.
