A Friday morning selfie inspired by micro{dot}blogger Jatan…

I believe that showing up as ourselves can be a nice thing for us and others around us.

So, whyever not?

If you’re seeing this, happy Friday ✌️

@jasraj Happy Friday to you as well!

Morning selfie of me looking as little disheveled as possible, wearing a black tee with white text that reads “one more snooze”.

@jasraj Let's make showing up as ourselves the default!

@pimoore Nice tee. Also, we can upload media to micro.blog replies now?! How did you do that?

@uncertainquark @jasraj Agreed, I love this trend; authentic selves for the win!

To post a photo in the replies, the best way to do this is using Mimi Uploader. After the upload completes, clicking the share button in the top right corner reveals the markdown link code, which you can then copy and paste into your reply.

@alexink I thought I looked like a dork, but mischievous works. 😂

@jasraj Happy Friday to you too! Today I’m feeling a bit too authentic, so maybe I’ll reply to this thread tomorrow. 😅

@pimoore Thanks. Test replying by copying auto-provided HTML from my micro.blog uploads:

Trying Markdown too:

Moonshirt

Edit: Both HTML and Markdown seem to work but HTML didn't seem to at first.

@uncertainquark Ah that’s different if you’re using a previous upload, you have to convert the copied HTML back to Markdown before you post the reply.

So in this case, you’d copy just the “https://uncertainquark.micro.blog/uploads/2022/0b7b14bfbf.jpg” part of the HTML without the quotes, and then enter the standard Markdown image tag:

@uncertainquark @pimoore Wait, HTML works? I thought only markdown did in replies

@pratik @uncertainquark This was always my experience as well. How did you get the HTML to work?

@pimoore @pratik The first image in my reply above, which used the default HTML code, didn't display until I edited it and inserted the markdown one beneath. After that point, both display. Not sure how and when this works or doesn't, maybe @manton might be able to clear this up.
